MUSIC VIDEO: CATCH A RAT

About

Following our collaboration on Gilbert’s Dead, I reunited with Cork band Gilbert to create Catch a Rat, taking on the roles of writer, director and producer. Building on the experience of our previous project, I led the development of the concept, shaping a narrative-driven visual approach that responded to the track’s rhythm, atmosphere and tone.

I oversaw the production from initial concept through to filming, coordinating the crew and cast, sourcing locations across Cork City and organising the equipment and logistics required to bring the project to life. Storyboarding and camera tests played a central role in pre-production, allowing me to map the visual sequences against specific sections of the track and create a cohesive relationship between the music, pacing and imagery.

The project was subsequently nominated for the Lift-Off Global Network Finals, recognising the video among a wider selection of independent film and music video work. It also marked an important step in my development as a filmmaker, strengthening my experience in creative leadership, production management and the integration of music and visual storytelling.
